Weekly Theme – Perseverance

!0 days and counting! The kids are excited to be “almost first-graders”!
We have finished all state testing are going to be doing end of the year review from here on out and celebrating all our accomplishments!

We will be talking about perseverance and how we all worked so hard this year without giving up! 

I’ve been going to kindergarten

All the whole year long!
I’ve been going to kindergarten
And I’ve learned lots of songs!
I can read and write and add problems, too!
There isn’t a story problem I can’t do!
I’ve been going to kindergarten all the whole year through!

We are down to the last 15 days of school!!!!

We are starting to wrap up the year and finish all end of year testing. We have lots of fun activities planned as we start our final countdown to first grade!

Thank you to all the parents who helped with our field trip. We had a wonderful time!!! 



We are also excited about our chicks that hatched on Friday! Here are a few videos and pics!
















We also are spending a bit more time outside as the weather warms up. If you would like to send in things like, chalk, bubbles, frisbees, and hula hoops, we would love to play with them!

Our field trip is planned for Friday, April 19th. We will be going to the Children’s Museum here in Fort Collins. If you want to drive, please make sure to stop by the front office to complete a background check J. Permission forms and driver/chaperone sign ups will be emailed out. 

We also are spending a bit more time outside as the weather warms up. If you would like to send in things like, chalk, bubbles, frisbees, and hula hoops, we would love to play with them!

Can you believe we are down to the last 8 weeks of school! 

This time of year gets exciting and full of events. We have an fun month planned – class pictures, math night, showcase night, field trip, eggs hatching, talent show, and the respect assembly are all happening!

Our field trip is planned for Friday, April 19th. More information will be coming home soon. Our eggs are also due to hatch around the 19th – it will be a busy exciting day!

Please remember: 2 snacks (nut-free), water bottles, and weather appropriate clothing 😎.

What a wonderful, snowy weekend! Remember to send appropriate winter clothing – we may have snowy recess days this week!

We are going to have a fun filled Dr. Seuss week. If you have a favorite Dr. Seuss book at home, feel free to bring it in for reading time.

We will be watching The Lorax on Friday and having popcorn!

Showcase night was super fun! The kids really enjoyed learning about our communities.
We have three weeks of fun before spring break! We are finishing the second semester (March 8th) and report cards will be sent home soon after.
Kinder will also be participating in enrichment classes for the third trimester. Information on how this works and how to sign up will be emailed out to parents through the front office.

This week is all about the moon.  We will be reading and discussing Moon by Melanie Mitchell. We will also read Papa, Please Get The Moon For Me by Eric Carle.

Welcome back from a long weekend! I really enjoyed meeting with parents last week. Thank you also to everyone who donated to make our Valentine’s celebration a success!

This week we have Showcase Night. Kindergarten will be singing a song and showcasing the neighborhood we have been working on in our classrooms at 6:10 pm.

This week is packed full of fun! We will have our Valentine’s Day Celebration on Thursday. We will have yogurt parfaits and pass out valentines. Thank you to everyone for donating supplies! If you would like to make valentines to share the class names are listed here on the blog page under Classroom Friends. There is a list for both kinder classes 😊.

Parent/Teacher conference week is coming up. The spring time conferences are an optional opportunity to meet with me for a few minutes to discuss any questions you may have.  I sent home middle of year testing information in the Friday folders & attached a questionnaire form for you. Feel free to write down any questions you may have and return it to me and I will make sure to address those! 

The focus book for this week is Each Kindness by Jacqueline Woodson.

There are lots of great things happening this week! 

Thursday is our 100th day of school and we will be doing a lot of fun activities involving 100! Don't forget to bring in your 100's Day Collection Bottle!



On Friday we will have a special guest visit our classroom to talk to us about dental health! Tooth Fairies from Dr. Goings office will be coming to teach us about dental health and taking care of our teeth and gums.
